Willow Star Workshop (evening)

Create your own beautiful willow stars in this relaxed and festive workshop, guided by basket maker and tutor Tori. Suitable for complete beginners, you'll learn traditional weaving techniques to make these elegant willow decorations to display in your home or give as thoughtful handmade gifts.

Held in the Heritage Courtyard Gallery and Studios, nestled in the heart of Wells, this hands-on workshop includes all materials, plus one set of warm white fairy lights for your finished star. Additional light sets are available to purchase on the day for £2 each (cash only). Most people make around three 45cm wide stars during the workshop.

To make it even more special, help yourself to mulled wine, mince pies and a selection of seasonal hot drinks throughout the workshop while you enjoy a cosy, creative escape into the timeless craft of willow weaving.

Schedule

• Arrival: From 4 pm, where you'll be welcomed with hot drinks, mulled wine and mince pies.

• Workshop Start: 4:15 pm.

• Workshop End: Approximately 6:45 pm.

• The venue is on the first floor, accessible only via stairs.

• This course is not suitable for those under 16 years of age.

• Please be aware that willow bark can cause serious allergic reactions in individuals sensitive to aspirin or those taking certain medications (e.g., blood thinners, beta-blockers, or acetaminophen/ Tylenol).

• We want everyone to enjoy the workshop and get home safely, please drink responsibly and never drink and drive.
