Join us for an immersive willow weaving experience at The CORE, St Ives’ inspiring eco-centre, nestled at the base of the 30-acre Community Orchard and Nature Reserve. With its circular design, central skylight, and spacious veranda overlooking the orchard, The CORE is designed to bring people closer to nature—restoring well-being, fostering creativity, and building community. Under the expert guidance of willow artist Jo Sadler, you’ll learn step-by-step how to weave a stunning leaping hare sculpture using locally sourced Somerset willow. Whether you're a beginner or have experience, this hands-on workshop will give you the skills and confidence to create a beautiful piece for your home or garden. Expect a day of creativity, connection, and relaxation, complemented by coffee, cake, a seasonal lunch, and afternoon refreshments—all made with locally sourced ingredients and served in a picturesque setting. Schedule Arrival: From 9:15 am – Start the day with a warm welcome, a hot drink, and a homemade treat. Workshop Begins: 9:30 am – Dive into the creative process with Jo’s expert guidance. Lunch Break: A 45-minute pause to enjoy a delicious seasonal meal. Workshop Ends: Around 4:30 pm, with your finished willow hare ready to take home. Throughout the day, enjoy the serene views of the orchard, the wellness garden, and a supportive, creative atmosphere. Dietary Requirements & Allergies: Please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies when booking. We will prepare all food using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. Getting Here: There is very little parking, just a small carpark that fits max 5 cars and this is often full. Nearest larger car park: St John in the Fields Church (Stennack) – 10-minute walk (£5 per day). Walking from town: From Royal Square, allow 30 minutes uphill and 20 minutes back down. Public transport: The St Ives Bus stops at Leach Pottery, just a 5-minute walk away. Taxis: Available from St Ives Cinema. Ace Cars: 01736 797799 (£5-7). Important Notes • This course is not suitable for those under 16 years of age. • Please be aware that willow bark can cause serious allergic reactions in individuals sensitive to aspirin or those taking certain medications (e.g., blood thinners, beta-blockers, or acetaminophen/ Tylenol).
Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change, and we strive to be as fair as possible while ensuring our workshops remain sustainable. Please read the following cancellation policy before booking: Cancellations by You (the Participant) More than 21 days before the workshop date: You may cancel and receive a full refund or transfer your booking to another available workshop date via Jo Sadler Willow's website - not at other venues that are booked externally. Between 10 and 21 days before the workshop date, a 50% refund will be issued, or you may fully transfer your booking to another available workshop via Jo Sadler Willow's website - not at other venues that are booked externally. Less than 10 days before the workshop date: No refund or transfer will be available, as materials and arrangements will have already been prepared. However, you may send someone in your place, please notify us in advance. Transferals will waver the right to a full refund and will be subject to the 50% refund policy up to 10 days prior to the new workshop and no refund after this. Cancellations by Jo Sadler Willow In the unlikely event that Jo needs to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, extreme weather, or low bookings), participants will be offered a full refund or a transfer to a future workshop date. We will notify participants as soon as possible if a cancellation is necessary. No-Shows If you do not attend the workshop without prior notice, no refund or transfer will be available. Transfers & Gifted Places If you cannot attend, you may gift your place to a friend or family member. Please inform us in advance with their details. By booking a workshop, you agree to these terms.
